Who we are, why we were founded, and the promise we made to each other in our Articles of Incorporation.
"The corporation is a vibrant community of members dedicated to participating in enriching social events. We are unique in our commitment to ensuring that no profits are generated from any of our activities. We will only foster connections and create memorable experiences, prioritizing community over profit."
Breslau Indians is incorporated in the Province of Ontario as a not-for-profit corporation, Registration No. 1001358496. No director, member, or organizer profits from any activity we run — every dollar and every hour goes back into our community.
Breslau Indians began the way most good things do — with a small group of neighbours in Breslau, Ontario who wanted an excuse to get together, share a meal, and celebrate the festivals and traditions they grew up with.
What started as informal get-togethers has grown into a home base for Indian families and friends across Breslau and the wider Waterloo Region — a place to mark Diwali and Holi, host potlucks and picnics, and simply build friendships far from where many of us grew up.
We are entirely volunteer-run. There are no shareholders, no dividends, and no hidden fees — just a group of members pooling time and effort so that everyone has somewhere warm to belong.
Every decision starts with one question: does this bring our members closer together?
Any funds raised go directly back into future events — never to individuals or organizers.
Newcomers, longtime residents, families and singles — everyone is welcome at our table.
We celebrate the festivals, food and traditions that connect us to home, together, in Ontario.
No membership fee, no obligation — just show up. Follow along for our next event.
